3D Aquarium Blu-Ray Available June 7th

The 3D Blu-Ray that was filmed at our store comes out June 7th. It will be available in our store and through our website here.

Lightspeed Design, Inc. completed filming, post production and delivery of a series of 3D Aquariums to be released on 3D Blu-ray by Topics Entertainment on June 7, 2011. The 3D Blu-ray will be initially available at Best Buy, Fry’s, Sony Style and on Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/3DAquarium) with Sam’s Club and wider distribution later in the summer.

Six different salt water reef tanks with over 220 different species of fish, anemones, clams, crab, shrimp and corals were filmed using the DepthQ® Stereoscopic 3D rig outfitted with two RED ONE 4K digital cinema cameras and captured & mastered at 4096×2304 resolution to create the 6 different chapters. Crystal clear, ultra sharp imagery combined with deep, comfortable 3D and 3 different 5.1 HD Audio soundtracks create an incredibly immersive experience that is beautiful, compelling and fun.

Aquariums were provided by Barrier Reef Aquariums in Renton, WA (www.barrierreefaquariums.com). See a quick behind the scenes video here.

New ORA Coral…Again!

Wow…the folks over at ORA are busy these days! They just released another new Montipora species. They call this one the Purple Undata. We will be retailing it for $69.99 and expect our first piece later this week.

ORA’s Press Release-

The ORA Purple Undata is a brightly colored encrusting / plating Montipora. The polyps of this coral are small, purple in color and lightly scattered between the coenosteum ridges. The Purple Undata grows into a thick, dark purple plate with a light purple edge. This is a fast growing coral that thrives under a wide range of lighting conditions. Under intense lighting, this coral’s coloration can take on a blue hue that really stands out.

New ORA Marshall Island Yellow Lantana Montipora

ORA is at it again. They have added a new, “must have” Montipora species to their availability list. This beauty comes from ORA’s Marshall Island facility and is called the Yellow Lantana Montipora. It looks like Montipora peltiformis to us, but we cannot know for sure until we receive our first frag. Once we get our hands on it we will confirm whether or not this is the case. Read on for  the info ORA included in their press release.
