Lysmata amboinensis or Cleaner Shrimp are a great addition to any reef aquarium and are usually easy to keep. Fish use their cleaning services to remove ectoparasites and dead tissue. Cleaner shrimp can be kept alone but are often found in large groups in the wild. They are not suitable to be kept with many hawkfish or lionfish, nor will they tolerate copper or high levels of nitrate. Proper iodine levels are needed for regular molting.
