Blue Spotted Puffer

The Blue Spotted Puffer (Canthigaster solandri) is a peaceful fish that is reef safe with caution, but is better suited for a fish-only environment. It will eat invertebrates/crustaceans. It needs a 50+ gallon aquarium, when full grown. The aquarium should have plenty of rock structures for hiding and lots of space to swim around. When threatened, or scared, Puffers have the ability to inflate their bodies. Please transfer puffers from the bag to the aquarium, or acclimation container, while submerged, using a bag or container instead of a net. There are health risks to the fish if they inflate with air, rather than water. The diet of this fish should contain meaty foods like krill, squid, clams, and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their teeth. Max size is around 4.5". Shipping size is small/medium (1"-2").
