Majestic Angel | Adult

The Majestic Angelfish (Pomacanthus navarchus), or Navarchus Angel, is a true centerpiece fish. A full grown adult will require an 72” 180 gallon+ aquarium with plenty of hiding places and rock work for grazing on. They can become territorial and keeping them with other Angels can be tricky. They are almost always aggressive towards their own species. Juveniles usually take 18-24 months to completely transform to their adult colors. Majestic Angels are likely to nip at stony and soft corals, sessile invertebrates, and clam mantles. We only recommend Angels from the genus Genicanthus for reef aquariums, though some people successfully keep others with their corals. Majestic Angels are also sensitive to copper medication. Quarantine with caution. Their diet should consist of marine algae, spirulina, mysis, brine, and other meaty foods. Ocean Nutrition makes a food with marine sponge that is critical for Angels in this genus. Ships as a Med - Med/L between 3.5” - 5.5”. Their max size is around 12”.
