Snowflake Eel

The Snowflake Eel (Echidna nebulosa), also know as the Snowflake Moray, is a very hardy fish, but as with all Eels the aquarium must have a tight fitting lid. Eels are extremely prone to jumping out of home aquariums. In the wild they are nocturnal predators. Snowflake Eels can safely be kept with any fish they cannot easily swallow. They will not bother corals or anemones, but they will, however, eat most crustaceans. It needs a 50+ gallon aquarium, when full grown. The aquarium should have lots of rock to hide in, and plenty of space to swim around. The diet of this fish should contain frozen or freeze-dried krill, fish, shrimp, and other meaty foods. Max size in captivity is around 24". Shipping size is S/M - Medium 6" - 12".
